gold attle for Artolis: The providence of Artolis lies on the border of the great Divide. Before the Divide was created, Artolis was a land of turmoil. The people lived in fear of attack from the mighty Gargans ( who felt the land belonged to them ). Many great battles were fought and won by both sides, but one could tell the people of Artolis were slowly being crushed by a mightier foe. On the Eve of the creating of the Divide, the Gargans had planned a great assault ( one they had hoped would rid themselves of the Artolians ). Fortunately, for the Artolians, the Divide saved them from the attack and certain doom. Since that time Artolis has flurished and grown into a great power among the people of good; and the Gargans have never fogotten that the land of Artolis was once almost theirs.

Now the divide has been destroyed, the Gargans have quickly attacked and captured the northern most city of Artolis. The Gargan war party is small and has sent word for more reinforcement. It is their goal to conquer the land Artolis one last time.

News of the invasion has reached the captial of Artolis ( the southern most city ). Panic has swept the land, generals are scrambling to organize their troops.

"Your Majesty, We will unroot this disease from our land and we will not stop until every last Gargan is dead."

"Your words do confort me, my son. Now go, and do that which you have promised."

Notes:

The battle for Artolis consist of three scenarios ( games ). Depending on who wins the first game determines what scenario is played next. I will be adding the other two scenarios later. If all three scenarios are used, there will be an additional winning condition to win the overall campaign.

I have tried to make the scenarios work with either the box sets or custom armies. If custom armies are used for this scenario. The gray player must only use Gargans ( unless both parties agreed not to ), and the beige player can only have one Holy Knight.
Scenarios:

Gargan Revenge ( scenario 1 )
Peasants Unite ( scenario 2 )
Gargan Flight ( scenario 3 )

Scenario 1: Gargan Revenge.

Background:

The Divide has vanished and the Gargans have entered the land of Artolis. They have captured the Northern most city, and have sent word for more reenforcements.

Setup:

Castles will not be used in this scenario, so put them away.

If this is a custom army game each player brings two board tiles. The Gargan war party picks a board tile ( if custom game, make it one of his/her boards ) and places it the way he or she wants ( Fig. 1 Silver tile ). Then place the other three boards normally below ( see Fig. 1 Green tiles ). The Gargan war party is small ( up to nine pawns ) and is placed on a town space and its adjacent spaces ( Place these pawns on and around one town space on the Gargan board tile ( Fig. 1 Silver tile ) ). You ( gray player ) may set up your pawns any way you want. If the town space doesn't have eight adjacent spaces then the war party will be smaller than nine pawns. All non-stationary pawns must be a different base strength. Place the rest of your pawns in a reserve area.

The beige player set up his pawns up normally on the two left tiles ( the bottom right tile is left blank ) leaving one space blank ( your choice, this is blank because the castle is not used ). After the gray player has randomize the beige pawns you ( beige player ) may make three switches instead of two.

Finally, The game is ready to be played. The beige player goes first.

Game Play:

Game play is normal with the following gray player exception:

Action: Place one pawn ( from your reserve area ) on the back row ( North edge ) of the your tile (Fig. 1 silver tile ).

Note: If a Gargan war party pawn is destroyed, place it in the destroyed area not the reserve area.
Winning Conditions:

At the end of your turn you must occupy at least four town spaces ( You must occupy at least one town space from each board tile ).

Regular winning conditions also apply.

If the gray army wins goto Peasants Unite (scenario 2 ).
If the beige army wins goto Gargan Flight (scenario 3 ).

Scenario 2: Peasants Unite.

Background:

The Gargans have crushed the armies of Artolis and have captured the remaining cities. The King has fled into the country side to build a new army from among the peasants. The King knows the dire need for troops on the battle front, so as soon as a peasant is trained, he/she is sent.

Setup:

Castles will not be used in this scenario, so put them away.

Leave the boards in the same configuration as
Gargan Revenge, do not rearange them. If you are playing this scenario as a stand along game then read the Gargan Revenge board setup. Now, gray Player, randomly place your pawns on and around each town space ( do this on all four boards ). If you run out of adjacent town spaces then place the remaining pawns on any non-edge space ( a space that has 8 adjacent terrain spaces ). Make your two switches.

The beige player places one pawn on each board. These pawns must be on an edge space ( a space that has at least one side that does not touch a terrain space ). Place the rest of your pawns in a reserve area.

The beige player goes first.

Game Play:

Game play is normal with the following beige player exception:

Action: Place one pawn ( from your reserve area ) on an edge space ( see above ). This pawn must be place on a board ( remember there are four ) where you have at least one other pawn.

Note: If a beige pawn is destroyed, place it in the destroyed area not the reserve area.
Winning Conditions:

Beige Player: At the end of your turn you must occupy at least four town spaces ( You must occupy at least one town space from each board tile ).

Gray Player: At the end of your turn there must be one or no beige pieces remaining in play ( on the 4 boards ).

Regular winning conditions also apply.

If the gray army wins, then the battle for Artolis is over. The Gargans are the victors.

If the beige army wins, then the Gargans have been pushed back to the Northern most city and scenario 1 needs to be played.

Scenario 3: Gargan Flight.

Background:

The Gargans have been pushed from the lands of Artolis. The King's army is in pursuit of the fleeing Gargans. It is the King's hope that if he destroys the rest of the Gargan army that they will never venture into his land again.
